We are open from 11am-2pm Wednesdays
9am-3pm and 6pm-10:30 pm Thursday-Saturday and
10am-4pm Sundays.
Mondays and Tuesdays we are closed.
You can walk in any time between these hours. You can come in just for coffee or a hot chocolate or cup of tea and soak up the atmosphere. You don’t have to book unless you want a guaranteed table (but mostly we’re not full yet so if there’s room we’ll seat you).
There has been a misunderstanding that you have to eat if you come to visit us. You don’t.
Apologies that this website feels more like the hidden entrance to a mystery school. Hence the immediate instruction to a web agency to take our story in hand and turn it into a functional website so you can see the menus, opening times and other relevant information in a much more appropriate format.
We are a café for breakfast and a bistro for lunch (meaning you can take a menu, sit where you like, then come up to the bar when you’re ready to order. We will open a tab for you and you can pay on departure. In the evenings we dim the lights, escort you to your table, and offer tableside service till we close the doors at 10:30pm or when the last diners have left.
If it’s your birthday, there may be tableside poetry, written for you spontaneously during your meal. We offer gift vouchers. We cater for large group bookings. We cater for carnivores, vegetarians, vegans, coeliacs and anyone with any other special dietary requirements. You just need to specify what they are when you book.
We are unique. Stu and Myles cook the most extraordinary food. Simon and Alisha run the dining room with Phoebe on hand to steady the ship during sea squalls. Every team member plays their unique role. We are becoming very popular because the food is first class, often changing and flexible where it needs to be. This isn’t just cooking. It’s alchemy.

Christmas Day set lunch menu
You can always drop in for lunch with out booking ahead… and supper too if your booking from the seasonal menu.
If you would like to book for the December set menu or the Christmas Day set menu, you can fill out the form or phone us with your choices on 01752981778 and we will take your order manually.
No deposits required at this time to secure any bookings - we are having a few tech challenges on the way into this… we apologise for the inconvenience, but we have everything in hand… sometimes the old ways are the best ways…

General Bookings
no one books for breakfast - you just walk in…
Walk in from 9:00 am for tea, coffee, croissants, croissants with butter and fancy jam, cinnamon swirls; various cakes, poached eggs on guacamole on sourdough toast with Hollandaise and bacon on top (the NRFW!); a good breakfast, a BIG breakfast, poached eggs on toast (sensible small breakfast)….
Lunch and Supper can be booking or walk-in, so as long as we have the seating, we can cater to parties of up to 6/7 without warning…. though this may change if as we become more and more discoverable.
We have your favourite menu items that will always be on, and other menu items that are always changing.
We currently have one set menu to speak of… Christmas Day.
